Who can see my family's information?
Only you. Every family's data is protected by row-level security โ a technical safeguard that means even Folia employees cannot access your family's profile. Your household's information is yours and yours alone.
Do you sell our data?
Never. Folia does not sell personal data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to train AI models without your explicit consent. The only parties who ever see your data are you and the infrastructure services that store it (like our secure database provider), who are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
Is my children's health information secure?
Yes. Health information โ including allergies, medications, and medical conditions โ is treated with the highest level of care. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, access-controlled so only your account can read it, and never used for advertising or shared with any third party. Health changes in Folia always require your explicit confirmation before being applied.
What does the AI agent see?
When the agent processes information โ like parsing a school email or learning from grocery history โ it uses your data only to provide the service to you. We send anonymised prompts to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. We do not send personally identifiable health data to any AI system without your explicit consent, and we never use your family's information to train AI models.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, anytime. Delete your account and all associated family data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can also request deletion of specific information at any time by emailing privacy@withfolia.com. Payment records are retained as required by financial regulations โ everything else goes.
What happens if I connect Gmail or Google Calendar?
Folia only reads messages and events you explicitly authorise. We never read your full inbox โ only what's needed to detect relevant family updates. You can disconnect any integration at any time from your account settings, and we immediately stop collecting new data from that source.
Is Folia COPPA compliant?
Yes. Folia does not allow children under 13 to create accounts. All information about minor household members is entered and controlled by adult account holders โ parents or legal guardians โ who have full authority over that data. We do not knowingly market to children and we do not collect data directly from minors.
What if there's a data breach?
We implement industry-standard security โ encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security reviews. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, promptly and directly.

Encryption everywhere
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256). Your family's information is unreadable to anyone who doesn't have your credentials.
Row-level security
A database-level rule ensures that only your account can ever query your family's data. Not other users. Not Folia staff. Only you.
Health changes need your approval
The agent never automatically updates medications, allergies, or medical information. Every health change requires your explicit confirmation before it's applied.
We never touch your card
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details are never stored on Folia's servers โ we never even see them.

Children's Privacy
We take children's data seriously.
Folia stores health information, schedules, and personal details about children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Children under 13 cannot create accounts. All minor data is entered and controlled exclusively by adult account holders. We never collect data directly from children, never market to children, and never share children's information with any third party for any purpose.
